I've been converting my VHS to digital and I have around 22 VHSCs so I bought this adapter https://www.amazon.com/Konig-VHS-C-Cassette-Adapter-KN-VHS-C-ADAPT/dp/B00QV2T6II but it never plays for more than a minute an then starts eating tape.
I've checked everything and I'm pretty sure the problem are the platic nuts (that maybe don't touch to tightly against each other) in the adapter that every now and then spins without spinning the second nut and makes a noise (which is the one that spins the spools in the VHSC) and after two or three times it just releases much more tape than the vcr can handle.
    Here's a video of what's happening: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4g7y6-iKHhg
And here's a picture of the plastic nuts: https://forum.videohelp.com/images/imgfiles/gBaOSMz.jpg
I appreciate if you can tell me how to fix it or give me some ideas or advice.

It looks from the video that the take up gears are not engaging properly. Another possibility that the take up reel's latch release is not working properly which makes it harder for the take up tire/idler to spin the reel so it just grinds and locks up and when the take up reel is not moving you know what happens, you get tape spill. Just toss it and get a JVC brand one if you can't fix it yourself, Keeping doing so you are damaging the cassette itself and wearing out the VCR.

I don't think it's the reel's latch I've removed that part from the adapter, and the pin that unlocks the VHSC is apparently working properly.
I think I'll just pay someone to do digitalize them, I can't afford another adapter since I'm not in the US it's more than 40 usd + 30 that I've already wasted and buying a new adapter in my country costs 100 usd lol. But I've seen a few places that digitalize them for 4 usd for each one.
But if I could fix it it would be the best solution, maybe if I could replace the plastic gears in the adapter for new ones, but those aren't easy to find.
