  1. Guy's and Gal's

I want to join 3 avi's, convert and index them and burn onto vcd.

Now I've done the encoding bit before so no problem there and I understand that I can use VirtualDub to join the video clips. But I have no idea how to set some indexes so that when the vcd is played you can skip to next/previous clip.

    Can anyone help ????

    Thanks ...................M

  2. I think the cleanest way to do this is to use the VDub framserver and TMPGENC.

Open up VDub, bring in all the AVI's, *Open* the first and *append the others*. Then start the VDub frame server. There are other posts on how to do that.

Start up TMPEGENC and point it to the VDub signpost and start the encoding process. It works well for me and the output is a pretty decent MPEG that can be burned onto a VCD.

    Hope this helps.\

As I know you cannot index the file as you want... the three files will become only one huge mpeg file and will have to use a software to create chapters or menu...

I like Ulead DVDMovieFactory... It's easy and works great, but I have not the total control of the process. If you want to control all the steps, you should try VCDEasy.

  4. Dude:
I do this all the time, Just use TMPEnc to Encode those 3 .AVI's to Mpegs.
Now, open up Nero 5.5 & click Video CD, then New, Then Just drag all 3 .MPG's over into the window one uner the other till you have all 3 listed, then just click "Burn". Now Nero will burn all (3) Mpegs one after the other on (1) CDR & will put all 3 close togther & just treat each one as a seperate chapter, I do it all the time.
