    I know all the usual about how to keep from dropping frames when doing analog capture but I drop quite a few frames "capturing" minidv footage from my video camera using firwire. Any tips or suggestions greatly appreciated!

    I have had the same problem with dv capture. The problem for me was the dv-tape. Try to capture from another dv-tape and see if you looses frames then too.
