I know the original stream is a m3u8 stream.
It was m3u8 before it got this encryption and now I can see m3u8 streams running in the background.

hello gentleman I hope I am in the right place. Downloaded and installed the Bento program. Made certain that the installed folder is in my PATH statement. i have the. MPD extention on my browser. when i go to the site i want to download from i copy the .mpd extension and then do what exactly? when i open my cmd box and copy and paste the .mpd key i am getting this message

I looked around the forums as to not ask stupid questions, but I honestly can't find out what to do next. any help would be greatly appreciated. i know through reading the forums that I'm going to need a key as well but I'm not that far yet I believe.

widevine l3 guesser is too old and now not work anymore

anyway also youtube-dl is old tool. use yt-dlp (better)
and put your mpd link into " " to not have all error as your shot above

so, run
yt-dlp "mpd_link"

No, this is where you need to add --allow-u to the command you use so that you can download.
The key is retrieved by other means.
For example, you can use cdrm-project.com
It will ask for PSSH (which you can get in your browser console, which you can open by using F12, but you also need to have Tamper Monkey add on installed and EME logger script added to it) and License url, which you should find in the network tab of developer tools.
When you get those, you provide them to the site.
Some sites also require headers so that you can get keys. You might need (some of) the request headers from the license url.

Read this forum a bit to get the hang of it.

Anyway the tools needed and the original tutorial video are in the linked post. All credit [ss]vegeta. I'm a complete noob to stream ripping but the video is how I learned ITVX, naturally errors along the way but a bit of perseverance paid off.

i have followed [ss]vegeta ecxellent video(great work and great video by the way) and i am stuck as to what to do. In his video after retreiving the key and pasting it to a notepad, he added itvv.mp4 itvv_dec mp4.
Do i do this same thing with theses filese i have extracted or do i have to use the site im downloading from .com

Yes I was able to get the keys through the method you provided in the video in another threat I located. I'm going to take your advice and rename the files and use the command code you have provided thank you so much sir I feel like I owe you a beer.

there are two MP4 files and two m4a files do I rename each one, for example: video1.mp4 video2.mp4 and the same for the m4a files or do I just have to rename one of each and it will combine everything? Or are the two different MP4 files two different versions like one is 1080 and the other one is 720? Sorry if this is a stupid question.

After deleting all files and starting over i was able to get this with your help sir.

Looks ok but did i do anything wrong to not get the best available audio and video?

Is there a way with a tools that I were able to acquire through this thread and others to be able to control which video quality I would like to download as for some reason all my downloads seem to be downloading the forest quality available for instance I just downloaded a file merged it together and it came out to be 576p I'm just wondering is there anything I can do to get this HD version of the same file thank you to anybody who can help. you can know before the res streaming with < yt-dlp - F link > or also when you put an mpd in N_m3u8DL-RE
they show the resolution before downloading

to get 1080p sometimes need some tricks. but this depends by your video link
