Hello Everyone,
I have read about ffmpeg amix and ffmpeg amerge and I am not clear on when I should use one vs the other.
I have read that amix combines multiple audio inputs into a single channel output and amerge combines multiple audio streams into a single multiple channel stream.
I see lots of examples for each but haven't found anything that explains both in detail and why I would use 1 vs the other.
I did see a post where it was suggested that amerge + pan is preferable over amix.
The research on this was born out of another issue I am having which I will post in a separate message but the problem I am experiencing is I am combining MP4 videos and part of that is using amix and there are random spots in the combined video where the the audio goes silent but you can still see the person talking. My thought is that perhaps it is an amix vs amerge issue.
