I use handbrake and vidcoder on dvd's. Sometimes, the mkv has black bands on all four sides.
I want to process a 720x480 movie, 4:3. I tried to guess the number of pixels to crop from the left and right sides, but I failed. How do I do that ?
I am sure that the question has been asked before, I just could not find the right thread.

There is a Scaling Algorithm setting, with choice between Lanczos and Bicubic. -
If the video need to be resized a little higher due to the black bar taken away it will stretch the video,if all 4 black bars are removed it will stretch the video according,the option to scale the video higher/lower is to compensate for the size reduction that will occur so if your video size turns out to be 540x360 eg then when you set the scale to 720x480 it will come at that resolution.
I think,therefore i am a hamster.
