  1. Hi

I have some recordings from my Panasonic camcorder, and am using the bundled HD Writer AE 4.1 software to transfer the 1080p m2ts files to PC.

When I transfer the recordings, they are in 4GB segments and are not joined. This didnt happen with my previous Sony camera and (Play Memories) software.

This is not good as if I combine them in VRD, I then have playback issues. I cannot properly seek the files, and audio takes some seconds to catch up with the video. What is the point of the HD Writer software, if it does not combine the files? Or, am I doing something wrong?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

There is a tutorial about this software here:

It appears the video is stored in-camera in the FAT32 file system. This places a limit of 4GB on each file. If this is true then the software is accurate in it's transfer to the PC.

I can not assist but I would suggest you look for other means of joining the segments. This will inevitably require a re-encode if you want a smooth experience.
