I am currently using Topaz Video Enhance AI to do some processing on an HDR film.
I believe this is the relevant info from the video file.
I'm having VEAI output to 16-bit TIF that reports being in rgb48le format.Code:Color space : YUV Chroma subsampling : 4:2:0 Bit depth : 10 bits Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.148 Color range : Limited Color primaries : BT.2020 Transfer characteristics : PQ Matrix coefficients : BT.2020 non-constant Mastering display color primar : Display P3 Mastering display luminance : min: 0.0050 cd/m2, max: 4000 cd/m2 Maximum Content Light Level : 910 cd/m2 Maximum Frame-Average Light Le : 310 cd/m2
I have no experience in HDR content and wanted to know if that image output would be correct/enough to be able to use ffmpeg to stitch a video back together then take and reapply the HDR profile from the original source to the new file? And if so how would I go about doing so?
This page that I found recently seems to be the method I want to take.

With the processing seemingly being.
-Extract metadata
-Create video from images using HDR video properties and HDR metadata
Is anyone able to verify if this process would work out?
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

Extracting the HDR10 meta data with FFmpeg and later adding it back while converting with x265 to H.265 should work.
Note the step described in that link do not extract and later add HDR-10+ or DolbyVision data.
(Both of these could be extracted and later added again,..)
