  1. Dear friends,

When I capture a video and the file reachs the 7Gb size, the capturing start droping frames like crazy. I think itīs Windows FAT32 limit, right ?
But my Pinnacle DC10 Plus doesnīt have Win 2000 driver to use with NTFS file system.
What should I do ? Anyone had the same problem ?

It's not the FAT32 file size limit. That's 4 Gigs. What Software are you using to cap with. I am using Virtual Dub or AVIO. Both of these can capure using segmented captures which gets around the 4 Gig file limit. I have captured up to 3 hours of MJPEG video (about 20 - 21 GIGS) with no problems. I haven't tried longer. I would suppose the only limit would be my 40 gig capture drive size (good for about 5 to 6 hours).

  3. Dear friend,

Iīm using AVI_IO with segmented files. The trial version allows you to save until 3 files. I choose to save 3 files with 3.5 Gb each. And when, exactly, it passed through 7GB, it started dropping frames like crazy. Why ?

Iīd love to get this problem solved.

Sorry it toke so long to reply. It's been busy at work and at home for awhile.

There are two settings in AV_IO that govern file size.

The first one is under File - Capture settings, near the bottom is the Maxium File Size which I assume you have set at 3500 MB.

The other setting that affects file size is in the same window at the bottom you go to Modify Disc. There is a prompt there for "Use MB on this drive". I suspect this is set to 7000 MB. I usually set this to the amount of free space left on the drive. When I first had AVI_IO I had touble getting the correct value in.

    Hopes this helps
