hi, i need help with a video cd that i'm going to burn. i'm using NERO.
Qns.....
1. the vcd format, DAT, is it the same as AVI? i changed the DAT (from VCD) file extension to AVI, it seems to be OK.
the dat is a form of mpeg, you could have renqamed it wmv and it would also have played your computer just need to know what program to send it to.
2. when i burn a VCD, does NERO count the length of the film, or the size of the film? which one matter?
well it's the size, but if you're making a standard vcd, size will always be the same amount of time.
3. if it's the length that matters, what's the max length of 1 vcd?
depends on your cd read how many minutes it's good for (ie 74 minute cdr can take 74 minutes)
4. if i burn 3 hours of film into a VCD, is it usable? because the film is only about 400MB. or can it be watched on a VCD player?
maybe, depends on your player it won't be a standard vcd you might want to check out the dvd players list see if you can find your player.
5. and can divx5 encoded movies be converted to VCDs?
yes, i recomend you don't use tmpgenc to do it though if you in a hurry as it might cause sync probs(most of the time it doesn't though)
Hope that helps
