  1. hi
    i am not able to play .dat file (in VCD)on my laptop.The same vcd plays in another computer(desktop) using the same player(windows media player ver 7).The VCD contains 2 files AVSEQ01.dat and AVSEQ02.dat.The first one plays even on my machine but not the second one.THe first one is of only 2 MB where as the second 759MB.THe error given is"Cannot play back the file.The format is not supported".I am also not able to copy the second file to my hard disk.It gives the error"Cannot copy:Invalid MSDOS function"

    Can u please help

    You have not appropriate codec.
    You may try Elecard's mpeg decoder package

  3. You may want to let us know what OS you are playing and what software you are trying to use to play the DAT files...

    Supposing you run Win9x or Win ME I would suggest you go to the Microsoft website and download the latest version of Windows Media Player (6.4, 7 or beyond depending on which OS you are using). All the newer versions play DAT files.

  4. i burned a vcd and now trying to open the .dat file in mpegav folder.. w/ wmp and all its displaying is opening media... nothing happens.
