    Hello,


    I am trying to convert my video from my digital video camera to SVCD but the quality does not seem to very good (mosiac effect blurring and strobing on fast movments).

    Can anyone please tell me what the best software\settings to use, whaen captureing and burning

    I have played a copy of a SVCD film on my Pioneer DV545 DVD player and the quality of that is as good as DVD.

    Any Help would be greatly appreciated

    you'd be much better off making a dvd. video on cd is very limited in the amount of data you can put on it. it's been many years since i made a SVCD but i seem to recall about 20 minutes was all that could be put on a disc with a bitrate high enough for it to be considered ok.

    At spec max bitrate of 2.6Mbps, that would leave you with only ~35minutes per disc. Though SVCD did support VBR, so that max wasn't always necessary.

    If you think the quality of SVCD is as good as DVD, then either your eyes aren't that good or your DVD isn't. B*I*G difference!
    I concur with aedipuss, go with DVD as a minimum now.
