Everything I find has watermarks or require a subscription. Are there free redact software where you can upload a file like a pdf, redact stuff out and save a new copy?

I'm always leery of uploading a document to an online PDF editor. Who knows what they do with the info you upload to them? Beware of uploading any sensitive document to an on line site. There are some free PDF editors that don't watermark but I don't use them anymore as I moved up to a paid PDF editor. I don't work for this company but I use Foxit PhantomPDF.

Some users suggested https://www.sejda.com/pdf-editor Don't know how safe this is, like you said.
I was preferring one that allows you to download the software and run it on desktop, but I couldn't find any that dont make you pay. -
I also need one which is free and downloadable. The sejda is not a free editor.
