  1. Do I need to break up a large (537 MB) video into smaller clips before burning it as a VCD?

I'm having playback problems with a single large file and I am trying to solve them.

If so, what utility can I use to do this?

  2. How many minutes is this file and in what format avi or mpeg?
What exactly is the problem you are having with the fle?
We were all NEWBIES once and the only stupid question is the one that's not asked?

I guess I should have stated that more clearly.

The file: about 55 or 60 minutes of VCD-compliant MPEG.

The problem: When I burn it to VCD using EZCD5, it plays well in any set-top player for only 25-30 minutes, then the audio begins to skip around. Finally, the audio just disappears altogether.

But when played on a PC or a Dreamcast, it is fine.

So I thought maybe the single, continuous file was the problem.

one single continuous file shouldn't be a problem.
you might want to try different authoring software...I've personally never gotten EZCD to make a good disc for me--although it did help me start my nice coaster collection
you might want to use VCDeasy to make an image, and then burn the image. that usually gives good results
