  1. I have just recently purchased my first VCD to run on my
laptop PIII Win98. I have installed windows media player 7.01. but cannot play my VCD. I have check the device driver SCSI1HLP.vxd is in my IOSUBSYS directory..and it is.
However when ever I try to open a file via the media player
the cd appears blank...it does not reconise any of the vcd files???? They do exisit and if I try to run them directly from the explorer, it asks me to choose the application.
I have also tried media player v6.4 and this say's that it cannot play back the file because the format is not supported. What am I doing wrong???

  2. Is there a MPGEV folder? If so, look in there for a dat file normally named "avseq.dat" or something along those lines and that's your movie file. Right click on it and open with media player or browse for it with media player, but make sure that "all files" is chosen in file types and not media files or you won't see the dat file.

  3. Try renaming the SCSI1HLP.vxd to SCSI1HLP.old then see whether you can play them using the steps gambit32 said
