  1. It has been a wonder for me : why there is not a topic on this subject here, I searched the net and found some posts complaining the same thing I'm going to say. I also posted this before but got no reply from an expert.
The way and time Nero does "lead in" and "lead out" is not correct.
The difference between (s)vcds' written by Nero and the ones you can buy or burn by another burning software is that all nero vcds' size(which windows explorer shows) are 1-2megabytes. There is not anything else that causes a problem when playing back Nero (s)vcds'. But a bug is still a bug!
For example, burn the same mpeg file you burned with nero as vcd, but import it in another burning software like NTI,WinOnCD,Ulead and check your vcd in windows explorer and see the difference I mean.
when you check your cd size, you will see 1-2mb for Nero and the size of your other disk(burned by another software) is near the original mpeg file size. This is the only difference.
Please explain if something can resolve this issue.

  2. This has nothing to do with lead-in/lead-out to the best of my knowledge.

I answered your question here: http://forum.vcdhelp.com/viewtopic.php?p=244477#244477
