All we want to do is get 10 minutes to an hour of our images and make a hd video to show on our tv.
I mean enough images, on for 6 seconds. Lasting 10 to 6o minutes long
Can openshot do this?
What settings would do this
Tv is a samsung LN40A630M1F
we usually use pinnacle studio 12.1
We use a windows 7 64bit
We prefer menus but i think they are only available on dvds and they are not as sharp as say 4k.
Blu ray does not always work at all?
Does openshot do bluray?
Thanks all
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

yes open shot or any editor can do it. highlight all the pictures and drag them to the timeline. adjust the time you want them displayed. add music. export.
what are you going to use to play the video to the tv?--

Why not simply put the pictures on a USB stick or drive and let the smart tv do a slide show?

"what are you going to use to play the video to the tv?"
thinking of a portable SD card reader.
other suggestions wellcome as long as it is not cast!
can all editors do 4k? better than bluray?
thanks -
"Why not simply put the pictures on a USB stick or drive and let the smart tv do a slide show?"
want to make a movie with sound, transitions etc.
this TV can only take smaller USB sticks, have doubts an HD movie would fit on one.
so far samsung do not know the max size but a 1T drive was not found by the TV.
thanks -
Or just plug a PC to the TV and use IrfanView or XnViewMP for Slideshow? I would avoid creating a video out of pictures. You can also show EXIF info in both. I've set it to show the Date and time of pcitures. Very informative of older pictures.

I have downloaded a small supposedly hd mp4 video for testijg purposes.
Any idea how i connect it to a 12 year old tv?
The usb drive only looks for music and images.
The tv is 5ft off of the ground so i am reluctant to hold it in the air!
Thanks all -
you're tv isn't 4k. don't even bother trying it can't play it. use 1920x1080 max.
