  1. ~Has anyone had any audio problems when converting a divx film to vcd/svcd with videopack. I have tried on a number occasions to drop a divx file to be converted in one simple step, and when completed the film video plays but there is no audio. Does anyone know if you have to split the audio and convert first and then add it back to the video? I was hoping there was an easy way to still use videopack and avoid stripping the audio and then adding it back to an avi file and then converting that avi file to vcd. Any insight to this enigma would be greatly appreciated.
    ~~Thanks,

Video Pack 5, like all "Authoring" programs are no good at converting AVI's to Mpeg's.
Use TMPGEnc to convert before dropping them into Video Pack.

Also, you have no way of knowing if the AVI has any bad frames, if you don't use a scanner like Vdub to check them.
You could get 80% through a conversion, only to have a crash.

I always use Video Pack 5.1 to make the VCD's, but first I would have used Vdub to check them, then TMPGEnc to convert them. This is the fastest method with the less errors. 90% of the time, the audio is just fine, and does not need to be saved out.
