  1. is it true that black case box is good for storing DVD media? in the center of this case where the disks are fixed has an opening and in that opening does light enter and impair the long-term storage of the disk and data?

While theoretically there could be a longevity difference, I doubt it is significantly measureable.

Best practices for LongTerm storage of most types of media:
    • In jacket/sleeve/case (to avoid dust, partuliculates, scratches)
    • In cool, predominantly dry vault (to avoid strong light or heat or cold stresses, or chemical leeching/changes and avoid mold & mildew accumulation)
    • Stacked on sides (to avoid warpage due to weight)
    • Periodic cleaning with non-abrasive, non-corrosive cleaning fluids - often merely plain water (to avoid buildup of grime from oils from handling)
    • Treating them as if they are fragile relics, even if they currently aren't considered that way. Some day they might be.

All of this is just common sense habits, as well as good science.

Santa Claus? Easter Bunny? The Great Pumpkin? LOL!

Edit: Reported gamey to the mods, hopefully we've given enough rope for them to make quick action in banning him, again!

And my patience at you-know-where is being tried.
    Short leash.

The irony is his questions are actually not terrible, when not repeated. It reflects a lot of novice mistakes that are not common sense or common knowledge. It's just that damned repetition. Asked and answered, don't ask again.

That doesn't change the fact that you're breaking forum rules [and netiquette] once again after being banned multiple times!

    - Re-registering as a banned user is against rules of this forum.
    - The initial ban was likely due to repeatedly opening new threads on the same topic, bumping too quickly, and repeating questions when already answered.

I don't like that last one either. My time is valuable and limited. Others are probably the same.
