I'm watching a video in virtualdub that is 14:26 minutes long, however, VirtualDub stops at frame 14001, which is 07:50 minutes long. I'm trying to find a way to increase the limit , but haven't found anything that even remotely hints doing so yet.

Update: Tried another video that was 09:24 minutes long, and the frames stop at 16700, which is 09:17:223 minutes long. .....I am SO confused right now, and it would mean a lot if someone could help me solve this.

Whoops, this is virtualdub2. All this time, I've been calling it just virtualdub. I don't have any dropdown options that say text

  7. Duration : 7 min 50 s
    Frame rate mode : Variable

It reports the video stream duration as 7 min 50 s, audio as 14min 26s

Does it play and seek ok in a media player ? eg. mpchc, vlc ?

You probably have to convert it to constant frame rate

Run it through tsmuxer and check change fps to 29.97(30000/1001),if it muxes with no issues then it was a regular 29.97 file encoded as variable.
    I think,therefore i am a hamster.

  9. Also after loading into VirtualDub2 check whether the last frames you can see come from the middle of the video or the end of the video (as played in a media player).

Oh wow, it stops at that same spot on VLC as well. How do I change it to constant frame rate?

  11. Does it keep on playing the audio? or stop everything ?

I doubt it's a variable frame rate issue if VLC stops at 7min 50 , and everything before that seeks and plays ok

Check another player like MPCHC - if it behaves the same way, you might be missing some video stream

And are the audio and video in sync when you play it? Does the end of the video (as played) correspond to what you expect at the end of a video -- closing credits maybe? Or does it just seem to cut out at some random spot?

  15. So... it two different videos, both from YouTube, exhibit the same issue, whatever method was used to download them might be malfunctioning.

I've seen once a YouTube video which could be downloaded fine with “-f 136+140” yet the “-f 22” version was somehow truncated ; but this doesn't seem to be the case here, and the specifications wouldn't match as the audio is identified as “192k” for the “22” version.
(Can't find which video it was, but here is one for which the “22” stream has corrupted audio while the “140” M4A audio is fine.)
