Overcoming or bypassing LG TV Encryption?

Hi All,
I am new to this forum.
I am in the same position as Member: elm who posted this:

I have tried many methods to convert the recording from the LG TV set and save the recordings as an MPG4 or AVI file with no look.
So, I have abandoned that idea and am thinking about intercepting the video signal from the Freesat Dish to another device that will record the video without encrypting it and that will save the recording in a format that a PC can read.
I did look at the HDR-1100S Freesat HD TV Recorder, but that too encrypts the recording.
Does anyone know of any hardware/equipment that can do this job ?
You might be wondering why I want to do this?
The simple and short answer is when my telly dies, so do all my recording, lost forever!

DVB S/S2 TV tuner devices made for PCs are one answer. Recordings made by these devices from free-to-air broadcasts are not encrypted and are stored on a PC. Hauppauge makes some (WinTV-HVR-5525, WinTV-NovaHD-S2, WinTV-NOVA-S2, and PCTV 461e) but there are also other companies making similar products, such as Geniatech and TBS.

Unfortunately, I can't recommend specific models. Satellite service in the USA is entirely paid and there is no choice other than to use the service provider's hardware so I have never tried any PC TV tuners to receive satellite broadcasts. I do use PC TV tuners to record US terrestrial broadcasts.
