MainConcept MPEG2 freezes after authoring with DVD-lab Pro.

I've converted a video to a DVD-compliant MPEG2 with MainConcept MPEG encoder, but when I author a DVD from it with DVD-lab Pro, the picture freezes after about 2 minutes.
I've been able to author another DVD from the same file using DVDstyler (without any re-encoding) with no issue, but I want to have the ability to use some of the features of DVD-lab Pro that DVDstyler doesn't have.
Any help would bemuch appreciated.

Which version of MainConcept, exactly?
Freezing can be many things. Everything from a bad spots on the HDD, to a bad GOP selection.

I'm not really sure what version it is. Whatever version that was included in EditStudio 6, before they stopped including it in 2012 because the license expired between Mediachance and Rovi.

You can try a different (older) version of DVD-lab PRO, OR use a different MPEG-2 encoder (HCenc, TMPGenc, whatever)

I have already seen some streams created by MainConcept Reference which are not recognized by LAV Filters or/and VirtualDub
— and they are always rejected by the old TMPGenc's multiplexer
