I capture my video with avi_io abd huffyuv, then edit in virtualdub. In order to frameserve my edited video to tmpgenc I have to save the avi as a segmented file then open it again. Is this normal, or just a problem with my (probably quite old) version of virtualdub?
I switch it to direct stream copy, since all I do is remove the adverts, but when I framserve without re-saving, the adverts remain there.
Any advice appreciated
Nick

You shouldn't have to save your file down at all after deleting frames in Vdub. Make your edits, then go to FILE, START FRAMESERVER, save the virtual avi (movie.vdr.avi) then open this up as the source in your encoder.
See under Conversion for Vdub frameserving guide.~~~Spidey~~~
