Hey everyone
I have several (3) Iomega external hard drive (2 TB)expanders that were connected to a dvr/pvr on a television. I would love to be able to retrieve the video files that are on these drives. I no longer have the PVR/DVRs. But still have the drives
I’m not 100% sure if the files on the drives are encrypted by the cable company. Is this something that can be done? Attached is a link to MediaFire that has a short video, as an example. Not sure if there is a third party software that can convert this to a MP4. MKV format. I believe the format that its in is M2TS.

Thanks so much.![]()

PVRs all encrypt the video stored on them AFAIK, not the cable company, and since they aren't going to share the key they can't be decrypted. That's what encryption is supposed to do.
