Im not sure about video bitrate the default seems to be 910
What would i need to set this to if i want very good quality like almost dvd quality?

Im capturing Video using a Wintv card from a video player
The software im using is Virtual Dub
Im capturing as a divx file

What resolution are you attempting to capture? 120x80? 640x480?

I think its 320 x 288
Virtual Dub doesnt give me a customize tab for some weird reason, and the next highest resolution is 768 x 576 but when i select this i get dropped frames
The pc im using to edit the video is
P3 800
512 PC133 ram
30gig HD lots of space 66udma
kyro 2 64mb
wintv go -
i experiemented with divx 5 for compression when capturing didnt change any settings used pass 1 and bitrate 1150 not sure about a good bitrate yet, and seemed to be alittle smaller file size than the divx4 compression gave me, and the same quality as far as i could tell
