Trying to take a series of video files and make it into a DVD player playable DVD. I've used Nero a looong time ago and tried CyberLink PowerDirector recently. I'm open to using these again but wanted to know what the best is out there.
Allow for soft-coded subtitles (can turn them on/off)
Ability to write to ISO and direct to disk
Support dual layer DVDs (bonus if supports Blu-Ray)
"Easter egg" or custom buttons.

VEGAS DVD Architect is no longer available for sale from MAGIX.
Note that MAGIX's acquisition of SCS products from Sony in mid-2016 included DVD Architects and the next version after that was VEGAS DVD Architect (a.k.a. DVD Architect 7).
Sony/SCS does not sell their former DVD Architect Pro or Studio either.
Depends how far down the rabbit hole you want to go. Now and days I use avisynth + hcenc for the video and ffmpeg for the audio. I then use gui for dvdauthor to make my final product. Takes a bit but I like the overall control I have with said solution. For all in ones I used to use tmpeg software. For free avs2dvd is good as well.if all else fails read the manual
