  1. I just downloaded a 700MB DivX DVD Rip of Down to Earth and used TMPGenc to encode to MPG. What I got was a 2GB file. How do I put that into 2 VCD's? When I converted it I got no sound either. Is ther enayway of bringing the size down?

Please help, I would like ot put it into 2 CDR's for VCD.

    Thanks

  2. 2 gig is too big for standard VCD 2.0; u must've made a SVCD or some sort like it

  3. Nooo,

SVCD will only make it bigger.....
Just use TMPGenc to cut the files to parts of 74/80 minutes and burn them on 74/80 mintutes cds.
So you'll need 3 CD's instead of 2. But it will play.

  4. How do you configure TMPGenc to break the large file up into two or three 74/80 minute pieces? Also what happens when the first vcd is played in a player and it gets to the end of the cd? Will you be prompted to insert the 2nd cd?

  5. Hi,

Just start TMPGenc and select "MPEG Tools" from the File pull-down menu. Select the "Merge and Cut" tab and add a file you wanna cut. now select the format your using in the selector above (VCD,MPG, MPG2 etc.) By double clicking the file you can set the start end which to save.

At TMPGenc configure, goto Advance tab and double click at " Source frame range". There you can set frame range to fit in one CD (you have to encode twice if you wanna split one movie into two CDs. Also check Sefy's Guide.
