Confusion about wholesaler for WM Capture

Up until at least late June 2019 I addressed any questions regarding our registration of WM Capture to Applian Technologies.
I've just enquired about an upgrade on WM Capture, as I'm currently unable to open the version we have, WM Capture 8, to record. I've been told by Applian Technologies that they don't support WM Capture.

Can anyone here please tell me why I might be confused at their response?

This is by way of a P.S. to my earlier post. I've just discovered that the Applian Technologies website is offering "deals" in the context of "Note: The available offers are based upon ownership of the following products:

WM Capture (2016-09-03)
WM Capture (2015-01-26)
WM Capture (2015-01-26)"

This suggests to me that WM Capture might no longer be supported by Applian, as they are saying, but they're taking advantage of previous owners of WM Capture to whom they're selling another video capture brand.

Could this be the case?

Visit wmrecorder.com which is the sister site. They list WM Capture 9, but the upgrade link is broken. And the release notes: https://www.wmrecorder.com/release-notes list version 8.8.5 as the latest update.

Given the few reviews on the link here and the fact that few members have talked about it recently, OBS is often talked about and recommended, look like the product is probably dead or at least very outdated.

Time to move on.

Maybe Applian Technologies simply sold WM Capture to another company. If go to the WM Capture page in VideoHelp's Software section and click on the "Visit developer's site" link, the link takes me to a website where WM Capture 9.2.1 is being offered for sale that seems to belong to All Alex Inc.

Could be a sale. But it looks like Applian Technologies is the parent company. This site is the home to the All Alex forum. Also the upgrade policy is worded the same.
