    How is this done?

    like, say, I had a video of my cat and i wanted to put something like a picture of a monster truck at the end of it.

    Simple, we do this all the time when we make music videos for family and friends with a combination of home video and still shots. MPEG-1 is perfect just burned onto a CD-R for being backwards compatible when the target playback device is a computer.
