Hi guys. I was just wondering if anyone tried this and does it work.

I am looking to download 4K UHD blu ray remuxes and using BDRebuilder to convert them to 25 or 50 GB blu ray (BDMV folder) for burning on the discs.

Maybe it's a weird question but I would like to know before starting to download huge files. I am not even sure is there a need to convert but let's say i want to add certain subtitles, i know i have to go through the procedure.

I had a 4K movie in HEVC mkv but my laptop was stuttering even when trying to play the file but i am sure it's just a weak configuration. I did however run tbe process through BDRebudiler and did get a proper folder but I couldn't not check it because again, weak configuration.

Thank you so much for any help.

I've been trying to do this for years and could never find anything, but not for burning to a disc....only for processing digital files!

BD Rebuilder and CloneBD only like 4K Blu-ray folders directly from the disc. They do NOT like when you try to reverse engineer them!

I lean towards BD Rebuilder because the resultant quality with conversions is so far superior to CloneBD and DVDFab.

I replied to this old thread in the hopes that someone will hopefully share their workflow that makes this possible.

  3. Isn't just easier to burn them on a triple layer BDXL disc? I never tried it and not sure they'd play? You can find them still a little pricey last time I checked.

  4. TSMuxerGui will do it. Subtitles need to be in the original format thought (same goes for regular BD or DVD). You may need to use some extra software in case you need to add any custom ones.

I apologize for not replying to this back when you first suggested it. No, it is not easier as it's not the cheapest route since one would have to purchase BDXL discs, which aren't cheap. The goal here is to keep it digital and to play, and store it on HDDs.

I forgot to mention that I have been using TsMuxeR as well as the latest nightly from December last year, and while it "works" ostensibly, the resultant folder isn't digestible through programs like BD Rebuilder and CloneBD, whereas "official" 4K Blu-ray folders work without any issues.

I see... I never tried to burn the resulting folders and I thought everything was OK. Thanks for saying.

The missing ingredient to this puzzle is TSM2UHD. It's what you apply to the TsMuxeR Blu-ray folder to make it 4K UHD compatible. And the subsequent folder works for ingestion in BD Rebuilder and CloneBD!

    Mystery solved!

I wanted to follow up and mention that with Dolby Atmos tracks, you still need to use UsEac3To (shown in the image below) to demux it with THD+AC3 for it to process properly in creating a Blu-ray folder within TsMuxeR. You just need to make sure you uncheck the normal Dolby Atmos that natively comes in the REMUX.
