  1. Hello,
I have installed an Avermedia CE310B card on my desktop. My goal is to transfer Mini DV tapes to AVI/ MPEG 4 format from an old analog Canon video camera.
When I play the mini DV tape on the camera it plays good including sound.
The issue I have is that the video played on my desktop screen is flickering and bad quality.
Any help with understanding how to solve this issue would be great.
    Thanks!

you are aware that miniDV is digital right? the only real way to transfer the digital info off the tape is using a firewire card in the computer and a firewire cable connecting to the cam. only 8mm and h8 tapes were analog.

what you need is firewire port. if you have a desktop/tower computer you should be able to buy a ieee1394 firewire add in card. without knowing what computer, type of motherboard, and available slots i can't recommend what card, but here's a listing of available ones on newegg. com https://www.newegg.com/p/pl?d=firewire+card
