Up until a few days ago, I could download movies, tv shows from SBS On Demand using Wondershare Video Converter Ultimate and had no problems.
The there was an update to the SBS site and I can no longer download from it.
As an example, when I copy this url https://www.sbs.com.au/ondemand/program/reprisal into Wondershare, I am told there is an error and the download can't continue.
Can anyone help or know of an app that will download from this url?

I have logged in with my username/password and can watch the show on my mac ok.
The url whilst watching the program is as shown in my first post but when I copy this into my download app, I get an

Find the m3u8 url after loading the following url (au ip required):

For someone to help you they need to be able to access the video (to get a URL and other information that may be required). So they need an email address and password. You will need to supply that to someone via a private message (don't do it in a public post). Or just hope someone who already has access will eventually notice your post and reply.Originally Posted by sven32

Helluva lot of sites are suddenly doing this worldwide. I first noticed it on ESPN Plus. I thought it was an error with my vpn service. But now, thru elimination I believe it to be a recent Win update. Same issue, certain sites using any browser. Still researching and running ffmpeg against some sites directly off my ubuntu server to try to prove its a Win OS error, amongst other tests. Failing that I'll have to uninstall updates singly. By the way, I had to disable FireFox's Enhanced Tracking Protection for that site. Otherwise I would just get an error message when I tried to play the video. -

I just tried with the command lines in posts #22 and #23 (with a VPN in AU) and it started downloading the video with both. I aborted the downloads after a few minute because they were going to take a long time. Examining the partial downloads I could see the typical MP4 fingerprints.

Yes it works for me too. I'm in Australia and download from SBS On Demand all the time. I just downloaded the 1280x720 episode of Blood season 1 episode 1, it plays fine.

Note that not all VPNs work for streaming in all countries. Streaming video suppliers don't want you accessing their video from the other countries and block the IP addresses of known VPNs. VPN companies buy and sell IP addresses all the time to get around this. So an IP address that is physically in Australia today may have been in another country yesterday -- and the geolocation providers may not have updated their databases yet.

In my experience geo-bypass rarely works. If you can find an open proxy in australia that may work with --proxy IPAddr:Port.

As far as I test, Allavsoft still works to download from sbs on demand, abc iview etc websites.
Step 1: Copy and paste the video link to Allavsoft
Step 2: Click Download button.
