  1. I use Movie Studio 15 and I wanted to know if anybody can help me with Saving a Project?

I know how to Export my Projects and all is ok with that.

But Say I have all my Sound Clips and Video Clips in the same Folder.
And everything is in my TimeLine and I want to keep going back to it over and over to keep Editting it before I Export it as a Movie File.

I go to File Save As and for File Type I keep it on .VF then Save it.
This will Save it as a Movie Studio File Type I get this and I can go back to it and keep Editting it.

But there is a Check Box that Says Copy Media With Project.

If I do not put a Check in this Box what going to do?
And if I put a Check in this Box what will it do?

    This is an easy one.

Vegas never alters your original media. Instead, all the edits you make are stored as pointers and instructions of what Vegas will do when you play the edited media on the Vegas timeline, and what it will do when you finally create the video from all of your edits.

So for most editing, you don't check that box because there is no need to move the media somewhere else.

However, suppose you have some of your media on a removable drive, some on your main drive, and some on a network drive. In this case, you might want to consolidate all the media in one location. You usually do that when you want to archive the entire project -- including the original video and audio files -- in one location and in one single folder. When you check that box, all the media will be stored in the folder you specify, and the pointers in the VF file will now all point to the copies of the media that are now in this new location.

In Vegas Pro there is also the option to trim the media so that if you only use ten seconds of a five minute video, you don't have waste space saving something you never used. However, since Vegas only has the ability to losslessly cut a few types of video, this feature often is not available for many types of modern video. (I only have Vegas from version 4-13, so it is possible this has finally been added to newer versions of Vegas).

So, only use that feature when you are consolidating media for long term storage, but for all other uses, don't check it.

  3. Thank you for all you help.

Just to see if I understand you it works like this.
I have all my Video Clips and I have all my Audio Clips in the same Folder as my .VF File.

So I do not have to Check the Box that Says Copy Media With Project because everything is in the same Folder.

    Do I have it Right?

    Yes.

If all your media assets are in one folder, there is never any reason to check box. Period.
