  1. Hi

I am using MPC-BE with lav filters/madvr. I occasionally run into video files that have several seconds of lag/picture freeze after seeking (forward or backwards). Video quality doesn't seem to be a factor. These same videos play normally on potplayer. How do I fix this on MPC-BE?

  2. Turn on the fast seek option. In the Options -> Misc. section.

  3. I have fast seek enabled already. I have also tried turning on/off hardware acceleration. None of these seem to make a difference.

  4. Did the problem suddenly appear ? Does the problem exist with the default EVR-CP renderer, with mpc-hc, what files exactly cause the problem, etc. ?

There are very long support threads with the devs here: https://forum.doom9.org/forumdisplay.php?f=15

  5. Seems to be a madVR issue? Files run fine with System Default as the video renderer, but I have seeking lag issues when it's switched to madVR.
Typically run into problems with some wmv files, but also some mp4 files.

  6. The default renderer is EVR-CP, not system default, which isn't recommended !

  7. I run into the same issue with EVR-CP.

  8. If you have a short mp4 sample uploaded that causes the problem it will help.

Confirm the problem with a clean mpc-hc + EVR-CP, then report it to the mpc-be devs at doom9.
