  1. Hi guys!

What is the Smallest and lightest laptop with HW HEVC LOSSLESS encoding for capture 4K HDMI camcorder video to 16TB 2.5" external USB HDD via Camlink 4K USB3 device?

I want a real mobil lossless 4K live HW video capture on the streets , in outdoor or indoor. (everywhere) Even all Adobe products aupport HW decode of lossless Hevc. The youtube know it.. So it seems a perfect solution with 2Gbit/s optical internet connection...

  2. Do you have the Camlink 4K yet ?

What software does it come bundled with ? Does it have drivers, or drivers available on their support website ?

It uses Windows 10 general webcamera drivers, no additional driver needed. There is no CD/DVD in the pack, you can download the softwares from the manufacturer website.

  4. I'm assuming you wanted to use NVEnc HEVC, or QS HEVC .

Does the device show up in any capture software ? What have you tried so far ?

Does ffmpeg "see" it as a directshow device ?
    ffmpeg -list_devices true -f dshow -i dummy

If Truthler plans to use OBS, the Cam Link 4k is supposed to be a supported device. See https://help.elgato.com/hc/en-us/articles/360027961492-Cam-Link-4K-Supported-Software

Yes, it appears in every software, because Cam link is a fake-webcam device, it misleads Windows (even Linux and MAC), so the OP systems really believe that Cam Link is a real webcam. It transform your camcorder into an USB3 webcam. Yes it appears in directshow too.

I use OBS with StreamFX plugin, because streamFX contains the hevc.

  7. It might make sense to wait a few months until Nvidia Ampere GPU's make it into retail channels, and the updated laptops come out

I assumed it could, but looking that the help file, there is no lossless switch

An important question about QSVNC. First: there is no software support for lossless HEVC mode, but the QSVENC hardware know it? Second: There is no HW support for it...

Actually, I can't find any documentation anywhere that says lossless profile is supported. Intel Media SDK does not even mention it
