Looping Slideshow

Hi Folks,
Yes I'm a total 'newbie'!
Question: I need to make a 20 minute looping slideshow with scrolling text and stills and play (looping continously) on a standalone DVD player.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Is it even possible to loop a VCD/DVD?
Am I correct in thinking I have to first get my video/slideshow into MPEG then burn it on to a VCD or SVCD or DVD.
Am I even getting warm?
Can any of you guys give me some hardware/ software advice?
Any replies would be greatly appreciated!!

I have done slide shows with still picture and scrooling text using SSMM. To scroll picture with text (like the credit at the end of the movie), take a look at panaroma scrolling in special picture settings of SSMM.

Make the slide show with SSMM, convert it to mpeg (s/vcd) then use vcdeasy to loop it. Well, I have not try the looping, but I think it can be achieved with vcdeasy.

KaiserSoze, an (X), VCD or (X), SVCD created and authored using VideoStudio 6.0, www.ulead.com, and played with a Pioneer DV-343 will loop continuously without doing any kind of backflips to make it happen.

Simply press play on the DVD player.
This does not happen when I burn the same file with Nero.

I'm not talking theory here.
I personally use all three products.
