Put some music tracks into a video (karaoke)

Hello, i'm a newbie here.

So I want to make a karaoke music video.If i using karaoke disc, I will find that the disc have some tracks (?) in a video, so i can switch weather i want to hear the singer, or just the music and singing out loud. Some karaoke disc can switch sound using mono l, mono r, or stereo in the video. How can I put some track to a video?? i'm using mp4 file, is that okay?? or i need to change the type of file first??

well, i think i know my problem now. So with what application can i multiplex my karaoke vocal and nonvocal sound into the mp4? so i can use the another track when i want to.
