I'm having problems using VirtualDub to extract audio into a WAV format, in order to convert an ASF file to MPEG-1 with TMPGEnc.
I have VirtualDub 1.3c - and when I load the ASF file, it uses the import filter properly - but once that finishes, I get a message that says "Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'MP43' (Microsoft High-Speed MPEG-4 V3)"
If anyone can tell me what I need in order to make this work properly, I would be grateful.

Use graphedit to demux and save the audio part. It's described in the HowTo section and/or at the doom9 site.
Graphedit is part of the DirectX SDK and is a nice tool for applying any filter to avis (even asf and wmf) -
i ran into the same problem a while back.. the best solution i found for my self was to convert the asf file to divx using asf tools, once the conversion was finish , i loaded it up to vdub and extracted the audio. and last encode it with tmpgencoder, i dont know if there's a better method ,and i hope this helps you out.
