I wonder why IDM does not work when I try using it to download the video.

It's very simple: Sites like that don't want you to download their videos. They work very hard at stopping your from doing so. They change the way they obfuscate their links to break programs like IDM, youtube-dl, and streamlink. Then the authors of those programs work very hard on figuring out ways around those obfuscations to let you steal the videos. It takes time for the programs to be updated.
