I checked a few AMD B550 motherboards that just appeared in the market and I am surprised that currently they only support 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen Processors and no Processors with Radeon Graphics. Does this mean that I have to wait until the ‘Zen 3’ Processors are announced?

  2. 3000 APUs are based on older Zen+, CPUs are based on Zen2:

I am asking if I have to wait until the ‘Zen 3’ Processors are announced for a supported Processor with Radeon Graphics on a B550 motherboard. I don't understand what the above reply is supposed to mean.

  4. You need Zen2 APU, which will be called 4000.

APUs are one generation behind cpus.

I would recommend 3300x which is sufficient for most users and the price is very good. And add a small dedicated GPU.

The 3300X has not yet appeared in the shop I usually buy from. I already have a dedicated GPU, but I think I prefer to buy a Processor with Radeon Graphics anyway. Is waiting for 4000 the only option?

  6. Yes you will have to wait for 4000 APUs or buy a 3000 CPU, a 3600 (non X) is also a very good choice, a bit more expensive but more in stock at least here in Germany. If you want a higher end CPU just go above, but these little two are best bang for the buck.

Zen2 4000G "Renoir" Apus will likely come out well before zen3 desktop.
Rumors were they were coming out in July ? It is not clear how they will be priced.

  9. Renoir desktop zen2 APU (ex: 4700G) did release on 21st July but only to OEM.

I would expect we will learn more about amd desktop APU at the AMD ZEN3 announcement event on October 8th.

The 3300X never appeared in the shop I usually buy from. Is it much better than the 3100 which is available?

I think 3300X is worth the extra cost, but I can't find it online either.

For the price the 3300x is selling at other sites it would be better to get the 3100 since it's just a minor downgrade.

  13. It depends on usage, but there is a major difference: AMD Ryzen 3 3300X Review - The Magic of One CCX

The 3300X never became available and the 3100 has disappeared from the market. ZEN2 was released in July and is not yet available from retailers? And what happened to ZEN3?

Most new AMD Ryzen Processors seem to be still out of stock or overpriced. What would make a good budget choice for the new year?

  18. Definitely, I checked availability the past months and it wasn‘t available anywhere and if it was available is was way to expensive so I forgot about it.

It was and has still best price to Performance ratio. Don‘t expect AMD will make this „mistake“ again.

3600 has PCIe 4.0 support for 20 lanes, 16 for GPU and 4 lanes for system SSD.

PCH from B550 is limited to PCIe 3.0 but that is fine.

Look at GPU Prices. Do not buy a GPU now. Worst time ever.

I read X570 has some issues compared to B550. What would be the best choice for the 3600?

Is the problem solved with the new motherboard?
