Hi,
When I first started using VirtualDub it would load real quick when switching to capture mode. Then I'd switch to my AVerTV Stereo capture card (it always defaults to my Logitech Quickcam first), and click Capture.. it came right up and was ready to go.
Now when I go to capture mode it shows a green area where the image will be and just sits there for around 30-60 seconds. After that, I am able to go in and change to my capture card
In addition to that pause it takes a while when trying to start a capture (well actually it pauses when loading that little window to Begin the capture). It pauses around 30 seconds before that window loads as well now... It used to pause maybe 5 seconds there.
The only things I can thing of that have changed are switching to 704x240 image size (from 352x240) and installing the Morgan MJPEG codec, but it was still fine after that. I've tried opening with the MJPEG startup running or not running and it didn't seem to matter.
Once the capture starts I have no performance problems (0 frame drops).
Has anyone run into a similar problem? I haven't reinstalled anything yet, because I didn't want to lose my settings if there was something else going on.
System specs:
AMD Duron 950MHz on Asus A7V motherboard, 384MB PC100 ECC SDRAM, 10GB free hd space (using DMA), Windows 98SE, 32MB Diamond Viper TNT2 video card, DirectX 8.0 using the Microsoft capture card upgrade.
Thanks!
calamari
