Are these not good to get? I noticed that SIIG & QPS's firewire cards are using TI boards.
Can anyone add any information on these? Is there a brand that doesn't use TI boards?
Thanks,
John

If ...
- You're really don't want to go for a TI Firewire chip
- You'll be doing DV transfers only
- You don't really care about price
I'd recommend a DV-Only firewire card like the Canopus EZDV. Runs for $200, but it's WELL WORTH IT!!! Lives up to her name (easy). You won't be able to use the MS codec (which is the neat part), as she uses the Canopus DV Codec. -
Price is a factor unfortunately. I've already invested too much in a camcorder with a pass-thru too buy a $200 firewire card.
Can anyone recommend a specific firewire card that will be used for DV editing?
Thanks,

Don't know what the problem is. I use a Pyro firewire card, cost £40, has the Texas chip and works great.
