  1. Hi there,
I have a Logitech C920 "s" (follow-up model but supposed to have same specs as the C920) which does not want to offer me smooth continuous playback in various applications. It just omits frames randomly, like 1-5 in a row (3x in a sec, every 2nd sec, etc.). I am almost there saying the freaking camera just canīt do it.. but I saw YT Videos of the C920 that seemed fine.

I tried a lot of things:
    - using MJPEG of course is the way to go, it wonīt work otherwise
    - various capture software on Windows 10 Pro: OBS, VLC, Logitech Capture, Windows Camera
    - OBS and VLC on Ubuntu
    - used at least 4 different PCs
    - new and old Logitech drivers and App
    - plugged into USB 2.0 ports
    - changed parameters on Cam: deactivated low light compensation and automatic exposure
    - lower res (720p) and different fps (25/30)
    - counter checking with another webcam, cheapo style does continuous frames but of course the image is bad..

Do you have any more ideas?
Itīs a bit weird I donīt get this working..

    Cheers

Sounds like you might have timing/overhead issues with your USB 2.0 ports. If the subsystem cannot keep up with the set codec & bitrate requirements, that is exactly the kind of stuttering/framedropping you would experience.

Have you tried putting this cam on a usb 3.0 port?

  3. Hi,
yes it actually looks like the bus is clogged. Especially because the stutter gets more when there is movement in the scene.

But- I tried on various machines with USB 2.0 and USB 3 ports..

Way to really isolate this when troubleshooting is to use known good substitutes: diff cam on same machine, same cam on diff machine.

Have not encountered that with my C920, C925/922, C930 or BRIOs. Don't have the "s" model though. Sorry that's not much help.
