  1. hello can i watch a downloaded avi film on my tv via a video card and do i still have to encode it to mpeg and what is the quality differance from watching a encoded avi via a dvd player and through a video card and is it possible to run to a vcr to record. any help much appreciated.ps if this is possible what is the best software to get.

    I think you have to have a TV-out option to do this. Never done that myself though.

  4. If you have a tv out on your card then this will display whatever is displayed on your monitor. So the answer is yes.

  6. I use ATI AIW's as they are good all rounders for capture, TV tuner, and TV out. I cant really comment on any other cards as I hav'nt used any.
