4K Player won't play extras/supplements - plays the movie fine

My LG UP870 4K All-Region player has recently started not playing extras on a disc. Specifically the supplemental extras; the movie plays fine. I recently bought the Lime Wood Media blu-ray of Night Tide. Movie plays fine. The documentaries on the disc won't play. I also got the 4K Jaws disc the other day. Movie plays fine. The docs on the disc don't play at all. What gives? When I play these extras, the player crashes to black. The TV then tells me there's "no signal." Anybody got any ideas?

I plugged in the LAN and did a firmware update, but still having the same problems.

try cleaning the lens in the player with a laser lens cleaner disc.
if that doesn't help, then the laser lens may be dying.

I shall do just that and report back. Going to order a lens-cleaner disc so might be a few days.
