Hi everyone! When I started converted videos around 2003-2005, I was using Bink and Smacker and Super Video Converter. I noticed Bink and Smacker is reviewed here, but no mention of Super. Did it violate some rule, or contain adware? I was considering trying it again since I noticed it was updated a few months ago.
    Thanks in advance!

Yes, Super did install unwanted components. There are other really free converters which don't alter your system to the worse (e.g. HandBrake, VidCoder, TEncoder, Hybrid, ...).

Thanks LigH.de, it was a great program then, but a pain to download. The new one claims the freeware one has ads, so I suspected it was the issue. I currently use Vidcoder, Handbrake for my conversions. I downloaded Tencoder too since I noticed it was in the portable apps platform.

    What format?
Hybrid is excellent at H.264 encoding, especially with inclusive Avisynth/Vapoursynth options.
