    "Class I am taking live"...there's something missing here.

    Either it is in person, and then the best method would be to record with your camera/phone (or even better get a recording from the institution).
    Or it is online, and then the best quality would just be a download/capture of the stream (or even better get a recording from the institution).

    Why do I get the impression you are trying to get around copyright/privacy/security concerns by screencapping? Please prove me wrong.

    OBS studio is the new standard, but if you want a more user friendly, you can use Logitech capture (also free)
