Hi,
I have several AAC files that play fine outside of Vegas Pro (16.0) but once I play them in Vegas to edit they keep jumping a few seconds ahead, they're completely choppy.
Does anyone know what could be wrong and how to fix it?
I did convert a few of those files to mp3 and that resolves the issue, but I'd prefer to use the AAC files.
Thank you.

If problem loading files and quality is at stake, lossless or almost lossless formats are used to load it into Vegas. That's a general answer. Vegas has general problem loading elementary streams.
One workaround for Vegas though is to use a proper container for that elementary stream. So using intermediate wav or muxing that AAC into a mp4 or something else might help. -
I didn't mention that those AAC files are extracted from MKV files. I used mkvcleaver or FFMPEG to extract them, but they had issues in Vegas in both cases.
Here's the details:
Audio
Format : AAC
Format/Info : Advanced Audio Codec
Format version : Version 4
Format profile : HE-AAC / LC
Bit rate mode : Variable
Channel(s) : 2 channels
Channel positions : Front: L R
Sampling rate : 48.0 kHz / 24.0 kHz
Frame rate : 23.438 FPS (1024 SPF)
Compression mode : Lossy
Stream size : 31.2 MiB (100%)
Is the HE-AAC format the issue maybe?Last edited by Nico Darko; 21st May 2020 at 11:57.

Thanks I'll try that.
The mp3 thing was just to check if the format fixed the issue or not.
