  1. Hi everyone,
I need to rip the subtitles from an .mkv file
As i am a newbie, please can you tell me if I am using the right program and with the right settings?
From the information of the media in VLC, I learn that it is DVD Subtitles (spu).

    Info from CCExtractor:

    Code:
File seems to be a Matroska/WebM container

    Analyzing data in Matroska mode

Matroska parser warning: You are using -out=<format>, but Matroska parser extract subtitles in a recorded format
    -out=<format> will be ignored
    Code:
    Track entry:
        Track number: 8
        UID: 8
        Language: ita
        Codec ID: S_VOBSUB
        Type: subtitle

I am running CCExtractor without any custom settings, I just dragged the file into the software:
    Code:
    ccextractorwin.exe --gui_mode_reports -out=srt -bom -latin1 [+input files]
this is the content of the output file that has the .(null) extension

    Code:
    size: 720x576
    org: 0, 0
    scale: 100%, 100%
    alpha: 100%
    smooth: OFF
    fadein/out: 50, 50
    align: OFF at LEFT TOP
    time offset: 0
    forced subs: OFF
    palette: 000000, 000000, 000000, 000000, 000000, 000000, 000000, 000000, 000000, 000000, 000000, 000000, 000000, cbcbcb, 000000, 000000
    custom colors: OFF, tridx: 0000, colors: 000000, 000000, 000000, 000000

  3. Your subtitles IDX/VOBSUB format. You may extract them with MKVCleaver. But since you're aiming at .SRT format you need to do an OCR. You can drag the MKV file onto Subtitle Edit and the OCR will start .

  4. Directly .. in SubtitleEdit

File->Import subtitle from Matroska (.mkv) file... 'ocr'
