I have a Swedish movie with an English subtitle SRT file. I translated the English SRT to a foreign language, so now I have both English and second language SRT files. Is there any MP4 player that would let me display both languages at the same time? VLC player makes you select on SRT file for display. I want to load two SRT files and display both, English on bottom.

You must install the Subtitler Lite (mod) extension for VLC to display two subtitles at the same time. There are instructions here: https://www.thewindowsclub.com/display-two-subtitles-simultaneously-in-vlc

Pot Player and BS Player can do it without installing any plugins according to https://www.raymond.cc/blog/playing-two-subtitles-at-the-same-time-in-dvd-player-and-computer/

The following Chinese software will display simultaneous subtitles from DVD disk or DVD folder. I have used it on Windows xp. But, as far as I know, you would have to first convert the video (with the 2 srt files) to DVD with software like DVD Flick. I don't know if this Chinese software will display simultaneous subtitles on plain video file with 2 srt files.

Suggest you create system restore point before installing any Chinese software. -
The best solution I have found so far is to use online sites to merge two language SRT files into a single file. That can then be loaded into VLC. Some of these sites put one language on top and the other on the bottom, so it makes it very natural for someone who wants to stay with one language to not get confused by the second.

You could use DualSub. See http://bonigarcia.github.io/dualsub/. It merges two srt files.

Found this useful topic via google, thanks for the links.
I used https://www.submerge.ovh for years but which works very fine... when not down. -
SMPlayer will do this, select one as primary sub and the other as secondary. I must confess that, while it'\s been my default video player for years, I've only done this by accident a couple of times since I have no need for this feature. So I don't know how well it really works.
